Behind the Screen

Hey, Val here!

To put it plainly, I am a 30-something, cold brew-drinking, flannel-wearin, campfire-sittin, passionate granola cluster with a Swiss army knife of talents, love of drinking out of mason jars, jamming out to Noah Kahan, running barefoot & playing in the dirt.

The love of art & design comes from an early age where I thrived best in the style of learning that was either visual or hands-on. Creating projects and solving problems was an absolute joy, and so I naturally gravitated towards the arts in multiple ways. The same could be said for my love of the outdoors as well, where our family activities often included camping or trips to the beach.

Later in my undergrad years, the combination of these two worlds became more apparent in my works and moral standards, thus forming the moulds of what can be seen even now. Capturing nature and holding memories frozen in time, inspiring others to appreciate and protect these spaces, or cultivating and nurturing a garden while seeing the benefits of such work in gratifying ways – all of these aspects are the compass that guides me with passion and purpose in all that I do.
